πŸš€ SEOFOMO Tips: The Black Friday Edition

Holiday season is around the corner, and if you haven't yet started, it's time for you to polish your Black Friday, Cyber Monday and all holiday-oriented deals landing pages, categories or facets, to ensure they're updated, featuring this year's information in its metadata, FAQs, ready to be linked from the top navigation, etc.

A common mistake happens when including the year in your Black Friday landing page, pushing you to create a new one each year, rather than leveraging the same URL every year, capitalizing on the existing URL popularity and rankings from previous years.

Another mistake happens by noindexing or redirecting these landing pages after the season, rather than just stopping featuring and referring to them from your navigation. Also, rather than showing them with empty content, feature the top latest deals, linking to the site's overall deals page, while inviting users to subscribe to get alerts when the specific deals they're looking for are launched.

A common overlook happens when featuring just a single page targeting all of your Black Friday deals searches. Instead, do a keyword research looking for the "Black Friday" terms along with each of your product or service lines/types, and you'll likely find that there are more than enough searches for your top ones to enable, index and target them with specific landing pages (if you have a single product or service), or a category/facet like product listing (if you have many) targeting each, that should be linked from your overall Black Friday landing page, that should keep targeting your generic black friday searches.

Do you need an example? Take a look at Macy's doing this for a few of their product lines, as you can see here.
