With placements in The Independent (DR 91), Express (DR 89), Yahoo News (DR 92), and many other big publications, this Google Trends based reactive piece generated a tsunami of backlinks and lots of interest from many reputable journalists.

Fery shares in a case study how when the UK rail workers strike happened last year they observed that journalists were writing about it extensively. They also observed that on Google Trends, searches for โ€œjoin unionโ€ exploded 184%, the highest level in one year.

They put the above insights into an email, explaining their findings, and sent it out to hundreds of journalists that had been covering the train strikes in the UK last year.

Almost all big online publications picked up their story, generating their client massive links, and mentioning them as โ€œrecruitment expertsโ€ in multiple reputable online publications.
